Seven-part series made by Channel Five to coincide with the opening of exceptional buildings to the public for the ‘Open House’ event in September 2008. Architectural designer Charlie Luxton tours a variety of historically significant British buildings including a World War 2 bunker in London, a neo-Gothic monument in Manchester and the Treasury building.

As part of a week-long celebration of architecture that ties in with a series of annual events taking place around the UK and soon to be the world architectural designer Charlie Luxton gives an access-all-areas tour of five selected buildings that tell a different story of power in Britain. His journey in this episode includes a rarely opened World War Two bunker in North London; Manchester’s neo-Gothic monument to industrial supremacy and the building responsible for managing the UK’s economy – the Treasury.
